Restoration Ministrial Staff

Rev. Larry D. Vaughn - Sr. Pastor - was licensed to preach the gospel at the Maple Springs Baptist Church on December 16, 1984. He was later appointed the Minister of Youth Ministries. Rev. Vaughn was ordained to the Gospel Ministry on June 6, 1992. Rev. Vaughn joined Shining Star Missionary Baptist Church in August 1994, and he remained there as an Associate Minister until God directed him to start a ministry to be known as Restoration Baptist Church. Rev. Vaughn's ministry currently includes support for the Central Union Mission in Washington, D.C., and the Bradford Oaks Adventist and Millennium Healthcare facilities in Maryland. Rev. Vaughn has a love for all people. His desire for Restoration is, "Not to be different, but to make a difference."

Rev. Leittia Vaughn - Co-Pastor

Evangelist Lewis McIlwain - Minister of Evangelism - Evangelist Lewis A. McIlwain, III accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in March 1991 after many years of alcohol and sexual fornication. Since his acceptance of salvation, Evangelist McIlwain has served the Church in the areas of music, teaching, and evangelical and missionary assignments. He brings a hunger and passion for worship with the hope through Christ that the broken hearted would be consoled and that the lost would be led the Savior. He has been a member of several houses of worship; St. Ann's Cathedral Baptist Church, New Home Ministries, Shachah World Ministries, and now, Church of Restoration in Cheverly, MD. He has been married to his wife Tammy for over 22 years and has two children; Lewis IV and Naomi Maria.

On March 31, 2000, Evangelist McIlwain accepted the Lord's call for him to preach the Gospel. He has been very active in ministry, preaching singing in the local shelters, prisons, nursing homes and on the streets. He has also facilitated over Bible Studies in his workplace, where lives have been changed and lasting relationships have been formed.

In March of 2006, Evangelist McIlwain joined us at Restoration with a heart willing to serve. He currently serves as Praise & Worship leader for Sunday services, preacher of the Gospel, as well as Sunday School teacher. His scripture of purpose is found in Luke 19:10, "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Pastor Teresa M. Stewart - Church Administrator - was licensed to preach the gospel at The Church of Restoration on October 26, 2002, and ordained in January 2006 by Pastor Larry D. Vaughn. Rev. Stewart received her calling while driving home one day from work. God has sent her to spread the gospel through her faith and by helping to make a difference in someone's life. Rev. Stewart is the daughter of the late Rev. Katherine J. Kornegay and the grand-daughter of the late Bishop Clifton F. Jones, Sr. Rev. Stewart joined church when she was 7 years old and was baptized by "Dad" - Bishop Clifton Jones. All Praises and Honor Goes to the Father that Substains and Keeps Me. Pastor Stewart has been married to her husband Ronald Stewart for over 27 years and they have five children, and nine grand-children.
